You know its shape by now, a futuristic sliver that looks as if it was sprung from a science fiction novella, powered by Toyota’s 1.2 litre in-line four-cylinder with 85kW and 185Nm on tap.
Its features include comfortable seating for five, a compelling driving experience and now in this Luxury flagship a fresh new raft of upgrades. The Bi-Halogens of the base car has been replaced with LED headlamps. Ditto the fog lamps and running lights are now all LED items.
The seat fabrics have been replaced with leather, now with powered lumbar support controls and are also heated for the first time too. A new push-to-start button and smart key make their debut in the C-HR as does auto-folding side mirrors – still heated as before.
The safety suite gets a ramp up as well courtesy of side, curtain and knee airbags in addition to the existing driver and passenger items. And finally, Toyota have included Intelligent Park Assist and Sonar to make parking an absolute doddle.
An attractive prospect made more attractive then, and yours in a choice of three bi-tone hues – White Pearl, Cinnabar Red and Metal Stream. The cabin is a multimedia festival of speakers and phone connections of course, but perhaps the funnest attribute of the C-HR is still watching folks try to open those rear doors with rear handles that are hidden in the C-Pillars. Or is that just me?
