Built on GWM’s global off-road platform, the Tank 300 marries off-road ability through its proven four-wheel drive capability with a cabin boasting luxury and comfort.

Due to local release in 2023, the GWM Tank 300 hybrid off-roader has been given a five-star safety rating by the Australian testing organisation, ANCAP.

The Tank 300 HEV was tested and assessed for its ability to physically protect occupants and other road users in an accident through the suite of destructive crash tests, its ability to prevent or minimise the severity of a crash with another vehicle, pedestrian, or cyclist and through the range of active collision avoidance performance tests.

The overall results in four areas of performance for the Tank 300 HEV were:

Adult Occupant Protection 88%

Child Occupant Protection 89%

Vulnerable Road User Protection 81%

Safety Assist 85%

“Normally, perceptions for such boxy 4x4s are more focused on the terrain performance. However, GWM’s Tank 300 can offer both performance and safety at the same time thanks to great engineering efforts put into the structure and tech level of this beast,” says Parker Shi, head of the overseas division of GWM.

“GWM’s Tank 300 is launched with a hybrid model to show the commitment of GWM’s electrification strategy rollout is solid.”

Built on GWM’s global off-road platform, the Tank 300 marries off-road ability through its proven four-wheel drive capability with a cabin boasting luxury and comfort.

The brand new Tank 300 is now on sale in global regions in the Middle East, China, Australia and other key markets and will be hitting South African shores in 2023.
