The new Mercedes-AMG A35 4MATIC is a mighty thing

This is not the next A45 AMG, rather the model beneath it and it is a stonker! Here lives 225KW and 400Nm from a new blown 2.0-litre inline 4, shifted through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G dual-clutch transmission.

"With the introduction of the A45 in 2012, we presented a real benchmark in the compact segment. The demand for our compact models has developed very dynamically in recent years. This success has encouraged us to further expand our portfolio and place it on a broader footing. With the new A35, we are fulfilling our brand promise of driving performance in every detail and offering thrilling lateral dynamics at the level of today's A45," says Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

As it stands now, the A35 will conquer the 0-100kph in 4.7 seconds, helped along by the 4MATIC variable all-wheel drive, which makes for a direct VW Golf R rival then, with what it takes to put the fear into the entire hot hatch contingent (FWD and 4WD) whilst simultaneously leaving something left in the tank for a really vicious A45 AMG of the future.

The official BMW Z4 photos and details are here

This is it, the car poised to premiere in a meaningful way at the Paris Motor Show. It boasts the chassis famously shared with the next Toyota Supra, and is longer, lower and wider than the car it replaces.

The Z4 M40i flagship is set to make 250kW and 500Nm, from its blown 3.0-litre inline 6 and is good for a 4.5 second burn to 100kph with the help of an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. The list of technology, safety and connectivity features is extensive, just like the waiting list for BMW’s finest new roadster, we’re sure.

2019 Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2

Well, hello there, you svelte Italian twinsettas, you. We present to you the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2, a pair of 'Icona', a new limited edition special series of car from Maranello.

This isn't for you and I and garden variety Ferrari enthusiasts mind you, rather the serious collector. Those monikers denote racing barchettas of the past, specifically the 1948 166 M and 750 and 860 Monzas.

Crucially, they both look like they were poured from mercury, have V12 engines for hearts making 603kW and 719Nm, and can sprint to 0-100kph in 2.9 seconds, 0-200kph in 7.9 seconds. Top speed is 300kph, but neither of these cars will ever be driven above parking lot speeds from one museum to the next. Maybe. I'm just jealous.

2020 Audi E-Tron

This is officially it, Audi's first fully electric SUV.

It's midsized, and has electrification geared towards performance, as clearly evidenced by the sporty aesthetic and 20-inch alloy hoops. Thanks to a pair of asynchronous electric motors, it will do 0-100kph in just 5.5 seconds.

Not bad for a battery operated mini-bus on stilts. In all honesty, this is a very important car for Ingolstadt.

2019 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT43 4-door

Meet the new AMG GT43 4MATIC+ 4-door Coupé. It's powered by a 270kW and 500Nm from a 3.0 litre V6 and can leap from 0-100kph in 4.9 seconds. So that's nice.

The Kia Proceed Shooting Brake is a Panamera for the masses

With imitation being the greatest of compliments and all that, we reckon Stuttgart must be pretty chuffed with the new Kia sport wagon. It's powered by the Hyundai Veloster’s 1.6 turbo powerplant. That's 150kW and 265Nm via a 7 speed dual clutch transmission.

This is the next Mercedes-Benz GLE

...and already it is being touted as being better looking than its greatest rival, the new BMW X5.

Personally I don’t see it, rather a softer but perfectly natural progression from the car it replaces, brimming with tech and as capable as anything out there. New innovations include E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL, the new active hydropneumatic suspension, plus Active Trailback Assist and an updated 4MATIC system.
