Gasp! It's the Singer DLS!
Before there was RWB, before there was Magnus Walker there was Singer. Purveyors and indeed proliferators of classic Porsche 911s. This one is the DLS, academically named as a result of its Dynamics and Lightweighting Study (DLS) – revealed at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed, now on in West Sussex, England. The car is a client-inspired collab with Williams Advanced Engineering, yes - part of the Williams Grand Prix Engineering Group. The plan was to pursue the most advanced air-cooled Porsche 911 in the world, no less. And this is the sum of it. And yes, it will take part in the Michelin Supercar Paddock Hillclimb Run. Oh joy.
Folks, not to stress the point, but under the finely fettled 'hood' of this 964 lays a naturally aspirated, air-cooled 4.0 litre flat six that revs to 9,000rpm and churns out a stratospheric 373kW. Thankfully this is 2018 and there now exists traction control, electronic stability control and ABS braking so nobody dies today. But what a way to go.
New BMW X4 lives
BMW named its predecessor the first ever SAV or Sports Activity Vehicle. Well, ok then – whatever that means. Here it is again and its an admittedly more resolved attempt this time at what is essentially a X3 in a baseball cap. Think BMW X6 but smaller and you’re there.

The MK5 Toyota Supra almost unveiled
But this isn’t really news at all. Toyota has taken the opportunities afforded by the Goodwood Festival of Speed to showcase their production car, that is if you can find it under all the vinyl camo. Yes, the vinyls are Gazoo Racing’s colours – red, white and get on with it already!
BMW demos its M Performance Parts bin on the M2. Again!
Meet the BMW M Performance Parts Concept. Surely a first for a concept car? It too will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in a striking frozen grey paint job and weighing 60kg lighter than the standard car. Look, it’s lower and lighter, comes with a penchant for carbon fibre and has some funky new alloys wheels. We get it. It’s cool. If a bit nerdy.
