The Rolls-Royce Cullinan has leaked (eye roll) on Instagram, and it’s HUGE (and hugely ugly!) BMW’s new M5 Competition Package has arrived - well not really – packing 460kW and 750Nm (Blimey!) Listen to the new Ford Fiesta ST’s 1.5-litre 147kW/290Nm 3-pot (Fruity!) Hello, Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600 (Taking it back to the old school…), and more…

  • Aston Martin goes forward with their Lagonda SUV.
  • Uber built a flying taxi. So that’s nice.

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is massive

The new ‘SUV Roller’ has been leaked on Instagram and we can now confirm that it is indeed both very large and very ridiculous. They’ll sell like hotcakes to the 1%. We have nothing else to report so perhaps just join us in staring at this cathedral on wheels.

BMW M5 Competition in detail

We know, the new M5 has barely arrived and BMW have already begun shoving down the even more fiery version into our inboxes. Meet the Competition Package designed to take the standard car’s 441kW and 750Nm to 460kW and um... okay, still 750Nm, but now transferred from the hairy-chested 4.4 litre twin-turbocharged V8 to the wheels via a new 8-speed M Steptronic auto. This equates to a 0-100kph of a blistering 3.3 seconds and a 0-200kph of 10.8 seconds and eventually topping out at 305kph. Well, blimey!

Ford Fiesta ST, this is its noise

The kind folks at PARKERS have been kind enough to record the sound of the new three-pot pocket rocket. That’s from a turbocharged three-cylinder measuring 1.5 litres and churning out 147kW and 290Nm, propelling the little tyke to 100kph in just 6.5 seconds.

Hello, Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600

Yes it is a 12 cylinder Vantage and that is worth celebrating, but it is the V600 bit that is meant to be celebrated. It’s a reference to the old twin-supercharged (600hp) Vantages of the 1990s. But it comes just as the new AMG-sourced V8s are introduced into the range. So, what’s the point? Because V12, obviously.

Mercedes-Benz X-Class out now

Merc have just unleashed the South African media on their new double cab baby, the German sibling to the Nissan Navara and initial reports are highly favourable. If money is not an option for you, then you should probably consider the new X-Class, a bona fide premium bakkie that feels right at home on tarmac and gravel.
