The 2020 Nismo GT-R has us salivating
Fifty years after its inception, Nissan have given us this – the 2020 Nissan GT-R Nismo.
It gets a wealth of racing upgrades for maximum performance on top of what was already a hugely capable supercar.
The 2020 GT-R NISMO has evolved into a balanced, yet extreme, performance car. Pursuing driving pleasure is the most important concept behind GT-R, and the new NISMO's performance suggest it is a car that belongs on the racetrack - but is also at home on the open road - Hiroshi Tamura, Chief Product Specialist for the GT-R
We too like to pursue driving pleasure (now where have we heard that before?) so are glad that this is version is meant for carving up tracks with its 441kW 3.8-litre V6. Special then, and that will reflect in its price tag as the most expensive GT-R yet.
While we love what we see, we can’t help hoping this is the final distillation of the R35. Call us spoiled, but it’s been a long time coming and we want an all new Godzilla next, Nissan.
Cat meet pigeons, the Renault Megane RS Trophy-R is unleashed
Here it is, the many times Ring Slayer - the New Renault Megane RS Trophy-R, seen here benefiting from a whopping weight reduction of 130kg.
That’s in comparison to the standard Trophy version sans options. At just 1,306 kg, representing a power to weight ratio of 170kW/per ton compared to 153kW/per ton for the Trophy, even though they both share the same 220kW turbocharged 1.8-litre engine.
As a result, the 0-100kph sprint now takes just 5.4 blistering seconds. That’s three-tenths faster than the Trophy and for a front wheel hot hatch, simply remarkable. Oh, and it will lap the Nürburgring in 7min40.1sec. You were wondering.

Meet the BMW X7 Pick-up Concept and look, we’re not saying it’s hideous. Actually, we are – and dear BMW fans, please don’t take offence, we just think you deserve better.
It’s in fact a one-off – combining the familiar drive technology of the 250kW BMW X7 xDrive40i with the innovative vehicle concept of a five-seater luxury pick-up. Presumably one beaten with an ugly stick by a group of BMW interns.
I am pleased about the synergies between BMW Group Vocational Training, Concept Vehicle Construction and Model Technology, allowing these young talents to prove their abilities with such an extraordinary project - Milagros Caiña-Andree, Member of the Board for Human Resources of the BMW AG.
I’m sorry but as far as concepts go, we prefer the next BMW.
The BMW Vision M NEXT
We literally meant NEXT, as in BMW Vision M NEXT.
Its slippery form gives a preview of what the electrified future of the BMW M cars will eventually become – and with 441kW on hand to convince us of the fact. Choose between four electrically driven wheels or the purist’s choice, rear-wheel drive, powered electrically or via a turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine.
