Suzuki is diving headfirst into the growing electric car arena with the unveiling of a concept SUV at the Auto Expo 2023 show in Delhi, India – and Suzuki Auto South Africa will be keeping a close eye on its progress from concept to launch in 2025.
New Suzuki eVX
The new Suzuki eVX is a concept SUV that combines Suzuki’s 4x4 DNA with the most advanced features currently available in battery electric vehicles (BEV).
Speaking at the Suzuki eVX launch, the president of Suzuki, Toshihiro Suzuki, said: “I am delighted to unveil the eVX, our first global strategic EV. At the Suzuki Group, addressing global warming is a priority. We are promoting a range of worldwide measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Suzuki is committed to providing valuable products to customers globally by optimising them according to individual preferences.

In 2023 Suzuki will launch the all-new hybrid Grand Vitara in addition to conventional motive power. The eVX forms part of a line-up of Suzuki SUVs in 2025 that offers both traditional internal combustion engines and modern hybrid propulsion.
The new Suzuki eVX comes with a 60-kWh battery system and electric motors. It promises an electric-only range of 550 km, as witnessed in the modified Indian driving cycle (MIDC).
