smart BRABUS fortwo and forfour

Available on both the smart fortwo and forfour models, renowned tuning company BRABUS endowers the little hatchback with racy ad-ons such as; performance increase to 80kW and 170Nm, performance sports suspension, and sporty configuration of the twinamic dual-clutch transmission with Race Start function.

The new smart BRABUS models will be in Mercedes-Benz smart dealer showrooms from December 2016.

While most us normally associate BRABUS with insane power outputs and tar-melting 0-100km/h times, things are a little tamer on the smart BRABUS. With a fuel pressure increase by 2 bar, and optimised air intake, the 900cc Turbo triple now makes a healthy 80kW and 170Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100km/h of 9.5 seconds for the fortwo and 10.5 seconds for the heavier forfour.

With a little fettling of the suspension, the new smart BRABUS should glean a few smiles. The springing/damping of the BRABUS Performance sports suspension is 20 percent firmer than normal, with the anti-roll bar on the front axle reducing the roll tendency by 9%. The ESP system has also been specially adapted.

smart's twinamac 6-speed dual-clutch has also been revised to add to the sportier nature of the smart BRABUS. Shifts are now 40 percent faster and shorter-legged ratios are employed over the 66kW smart model.

Helping the latest smart stand out visually is a matt grey rear diffuser insert with chrome-look tailpipe trims as well as grey, high-sheen and matte painted BRABUS Monoblock IX light-alloy wheels shod with Yokohama sports tyres.

The interior is elevated over lesser smarts with a smattering of BRABUS logos to remind you, you're in something special. Also included are BRABUS seats with Dinamica black fabric, BRABUS sports steering wheel, handbrake and leather gear knoc as well as BRABUS sports pedals.

An optional extra trim level dubbed Xclusive further adds to the smart BRABUS range and includes options such as BRABUS leather sport seats, Bi-fabric dashboard (artificial leather/mesh), BRABUS additional instrumentation in black/white with logo, BRABUS floor mats, Xclusive badge, seat heating for the front seats, LED & Sensor package, and Readyspace seats (smart forfour only) with a removable cargo box.
