With a starting price of R454 999, the new-look Renault Captur gains more modern looks, styling and enhanced technology.
Reimagined as a modern SUV, the Captur sees the signature front and rear LEDs flank the revised curvature of the vehicle while the interior boasts a slicker design and trim levels.
New Renault Captur
The styling components include front and rear protection skid plates and protective moulding that run through the lower body and the wheel arches. Beneath the wider grille, the front bumper of the Captur has a ground clearance of 174 mm.
With a 5-star safety rating, the safety equipment includes six crash bags (front, side and curtain), Park Distance Control, Rear View Camera, Lane Departure, Tyre Pressure Detector, EBA and EBD.
The Smart Cockpit has a 9.3-inch multimedia screen, and the slightly curved portrait tablet improves the legibility of its screen. The Renault EASY LINK multimedia system presents an all-connected and customised multimedia experience, onboard navigation and infotainment services.
The multi-sense drive modes allow one to customise the drive to suit the mood, from ECO to NORMAL through to SPORT mode, while the ambient lighting within the cockpit mirrors the selected mode. The analogue displays from the previous version have also been replaced with a digitally configured screen.
Captur interior
The Captur still offers front and rear park assist with the reverse camera and other standard safety support features, including Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning and Traffic Sign recognition with speed limit warning.
Load capacity is 404 litres, but volume can be adjusted via the rear bench that slides 16 cm forward, providing an additional 536 litres for everyday load convenience. With the rear seats folded down, an almost flat floor is created, providing 1 275 litre.
It is powered by a 1,3-litre turbocharged engine producing 113 kW and maximum torque of 270 Nm for a claimed fuel consumption of only 6,6 l/100km, thanks to a 7-speed automatic Efficiency Dual Clutch (EDC) gearbox mated to the engine.
Captur rearview
Captur is backed by a 5-year/ 150 000 km mechanical warranty, a 3-year/ 45,000 km service plan, and a 6-year anti-corrosion warranty.
