2019 Porsche 911 Leaked

Porsche’s new 2019 911 has (unsurprisingly) been leaked, and from the back at least it actually looks rather new-ish. The rest is stock Porsche ‘evolution’. General Motors is hurting over in the States laying off in excess of 14 000 jobs. MAGA right? Fernando Alonso signed-off his Formula 1 career over the weekend in donuty style, and more…

The new Porsche 911 is leaked. Actually looks... 'new-ish'

Well mostly from the back anyway, where a blackened horizontal dominates from cluster to cluster. Everywhere else the 992 looks derivative or as Porsche would prefer you'd call it, evolutionary.

There are no clues to anything interesting under the skin failing which you can bank on flat six turbo motors sending power to two wheels or four, via seven speed manuals or eight speed autos. But who's to say for sure, until all is revealed at the upcoming LA Auto Show.

General Motors died a little tonight

Seven factories nixed. Over 14,000 employees canned. The General is hurting over in the States and lest we forget this comes off the back of Ford axing most of their passenger vehicle lineup.

“We’re taking these actions while the economy is strong. This industry is changing very rapidly. We want to make sure we’re well-positioned. We think it’s appropriate to do it while company is strong and the economy is strong.” - GM Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra to reporters in Detroit.

The company plans to do this as part of their initiatives in self-driving and electrified cars, but we just don't know about that. Is there any good news on the horizon for American motor cars?

Naturally there is more of a story to this. It centres around the mighty unibrow himself, Fernando Alonso, who has slipped himself into an early retirement from the grand sport of F1.

Here he is joined by Lewis Hamilton and Sebastien Vettel as the trio melt very expensive rubber to celebrate the Spaniard's career. This took place over the weekend at the Dubai F1, where the man himself added;

"I have been very surprised because I have raced with great champions. I raced with Michael (Schumacher, a seven-time champion), I raced with Jenson Button. And, two or three years ago, in the same place, it was his last race and no-one had all the things that I have received this weekend. So, I cannot say thanks enough to everyone."

Well, he hasn't exactly ruled out a 2020 comeback so let's see what happens, shall we?

The new Bentley continental GT Convertible is a beautiful whale

Sure it's achingly posh and unmistakably British but with 626bhp and 900Nm and a zero to hundred sprint in just 3.8 seconds it is a velvet hammer. Its capable of 333kph, comes with 21-inch Five Tri-Spoke wheels as standard, with the further options of 10 spoke and 22-inch Five Open-Spoke wheels. Adrian Hallmark, Bentley Motors CEO defined it so;

"Elegant understatement that forces you to look; engineering excellence you'll take for granted - the extraordinary breadth of capabilities offered by the new Bentley Continental GT Convertible is unique and can only be offered by our noble British brand. We have been building luxury Grand Tourers since the company was founded in 1919 and, as we approach our centenary year, the Continental GT Convertible joins a highly acclaimed range - arguably the strongest and most technologically advanced portfolio of products the world has ever seen in one luxury brand."

Well yeah, Adrian. Rather.
