McLaren 720S Track Pack
It seems like every Monday there’s a new McLaren to write about. Well it’s Monday today so... meet the 720S Track Pack and you’d be perfectly right in assuming that this was meant for the polished asphalt of a racing circuit.
But that doesn’t mean it isn’t road legal, rather just the pointy tip of the performance spectrum a la McLaren. Lighter, stiffer and now boasting a 0-200kph of just 7.8 seconds.

Meet the Holden Time Attack Concept
Yes, we love it too – but here’s some much needed context. First, just a reminder that Holden is to General Motors in Australia what Opel is in Germany, and Vauxhall is in Britain.
This, this however looks like it is from Mars. Well, a race circuit on Mars in any case, being a carbon fibre monocoque dripping with unobtanium – to commemorate the company’s historical win at Bathurst 50 years ago. It was designed in virtual reality as an electric racer.
“The technology we employ today has transformed the way we design cars. We have the ability to simulate a car’s appearance, technology and dynamics in convincing animations, which enables us to deliver better designs in a shorter time.” Holden design chief Richard Ferlazzo.
In a recent simulation the concept was (virtually) capable of a 1min 29 second lap of the legendary Mount Panorama Circuit. Compare that to the outright record of 2:01.567 set by a McLaren 650S GT3 race car during the 2016 12 Hours of Bathurst race and you begin to understand the excitement at the Holden camp.
