  • Isuzu celebrates 40 years of KB production in South Africa

New Mazda CX3 pricing and more

We’ve always thought the CX3 was a bit of a hidden gem amongst the local offerings, especially with that zesty 2.0 litre naturally aspirated engine it shares with the MX-5. And now it’s back, better than ever, with sharpened up styling all round. But back to that 115kW and 206Nm – surely that’s rare in this segment? Just buy one.

Luxury derivative arrives in the Toyota C-HR range

Meet the edgy new flagship in the compact high rider range, the R422,100 Luxury spec. It still comes with the same 1.2T CVT drivetrain (good for 85kW and 185Nm), but now comes in duo-tone paintwork and a similar application on the alloys as well. Also new in the range-topper is leather upholstery, a push to start button with complementary keyless entry, powered and heated seats and intelligent park assist.

New Supra details emerge (yet again)

The new car’s chief engineer, Tetsuya Tada, had this to say about his creation. “I can’t disclose specific figures, but the [torque] output of this engine is on a par with that which we have with the F-Series from Lexus.” That car, the RC F makes with its 5.0l V8 a strong 530Nm – so healthy indeed. Oddly, it has an even smaller wheelbase than it’s smaller GT86 sibling but will most likely weigh around 200kg more – we’d guess circa 1510kg. The Supra, besides sharing its underpinnings with the upcoming BMW Z4 will boast 50:50 weight distribution, a low centre of gravity and body-rigidity alleged to be twice as stiff as the 86. How much longer will we have to wait?
