Yes, it's Monday and we've already trawled the news so you won't need to. Come for the news, stay for the reviews, columns and more.

One Liners

• In F1: Hamilton sulks off after losing British GP to Vettel
• And in Toyota news nobody was expecting, the new Supra will run in NASCAR

VW teases something called a T Cross

Yes, a new SUV from VW, just what we asked for. Like the new Polo, this will be underpinned by the MQB platform and in essence be the smallest SUV with a Volkswagen badge. You can expect the group's 1.0 litre turbo 3-pot and the naturally aspirated 1.4 litre to do duty here.

The Toyota Rush is here and we have prices

With the five-seater Rush, an MPV with an SUV identity crisis, we've come to the conclusion that Toyota will once again be printing money. South Africans love anything with a Toyota badge, that residual everything-keeps-going-rightness of decades ago combined with excellent resale value and all that. Combine that with the zeitgeisty nature of anything with rubber on its underbelly and a slightly stilted stance and you surely have a winner in the Rush.

What's more is the fact that it's essentially a badge engineered Daihatsu Terios so there does indeed live a bit of pedigree here, despite the Rush being a strictly two-wheel drive affair. Power is adequate at 77kW and 136Nm from a 1.5litre engine whilst shift happens via a five speed manual or four speed auto.

The fuel consumption payload sits around 6.6l/100km and with 6 airbags plus ABS, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill Control Assist (HCA) it's as safe as a house on wheels. Predictably.

Pricing:

Rush 1.5 M/TR299 900.00
Rush 1.5 A/TR313 500.00

*And is sold with a 3-year/100 000 km warranty and a 6-service/90 000 km service plan.

Just ten of these classic Porsches will be built

Meet the Le Mans Classic Clubsport, an achingly pretty 911 created by Porsche specialist Paul Stevens. Under that 901 body is a modern boxer engine, air-cooled. It will be light of weight, fleet of foot and is clear to see, stirring of loins. It delivers 224kW from that 3.4 litre flat-six, weighs 970kg in Lightweight configuration although the Clubsport version is hardly a lard arse at 1075kg.

Expect 0-100kph sprints around 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 282kph. A superficial number for me or course, as I'd put it in a bloody museum at once. Lust.
