IONIQ 6 Electrified Streamliner won big at World Car of the Year Awards

The IONIQ 6 Electrified Streamliner set Hyundai apart from the competition at the World Car of the Year Awards. The brand dominated three categories and claimed the top accolade.

Hyundai aced the recent World Car of the Year Awards announced at the New York Motor Show, taking overall honours, World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design titles as well – this, for the second consecutive year.

The IONIQ 6 Electrified Streamliner won the title based on the votes by an international jury that praised it for its unique aerodynamic design and outstanding all-electric range.

The accolade reinforces Hyundai's commitment to vehicle electrification and providing mobility solutions.

Kia getting honours as World Performance Car for the EV6 GT

The IONIQ 6 is the second model in Hyundai’s dedicated all-electric IONIQ brand range. It takes full advantage of a bespoke Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) architecture to offer 800-V, ultra-fast charging capabilities for a 10% to 80% charge in just 18 minutes.

Citroën C3 scooped the 2023 World Urban Car prize at the 19th World Car Awards – the B-segment hatch gained marks for its modernity and its assertive, customisable character.

The World Luxury Car title went to Lucid Air with Kia getting honours as World Performance Car for the EV6 GT.

A jury of 100 international automotive journalists from 32 countries selected the winners by secret ballot based on their evaluation of each eligible vehicle as part of their ongoing professional work.

All the World Car Award trophies were created this year by legendary automotive designer Ian Callum’s design and engineering consultancy.
